****This is a hybrid role. 

Staff Accountant I

Position Highlights:

  • This is an entry level professional position, that will assist in the preparation/maintenance of the General Ledger system to support accurate and timely financial data flows through the financial statement process. that performs research and analysis of financial statement activity. Handles high volume of transactions, prepares account reconciliations and is involved in the monthly GL closing process. Specific emphasis based on assigned area of the financial statements. Provides support for the annual audit.

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger functions (i.e., journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis)
  • Perform account reconciliations and analysis as assigned (area of focus may include: Inventory, Fixed Assets, Miscellaneous Cash, Accounts Receivable, Pharmacy)
  • Assist the Director of Accounting and the Manager of Accounting in preparation of the year-end and interim audits.
  • Learn the Lawson financial systems, including G/L and A/P.

Credentials and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Accounting or directly related field
  • Familiarity with accounting procedures and GAAP is required

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills required.
  • Demonstrated competency of standard Microsoft applications and integrated financial systems required.
  • Strong documentation skills to support internal controls.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Deadline and detail oriented.
