The Department of Psychology at Rider University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor Lecturer Continuing Status track position to begin on September 1, 2024. The successful candidate will be a core member of our Department faculty, will serve as the Program Coordinator for our Master’s in Applied Psychology program, and will be the main point of contact for the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

The successful candidate will be expected to teach predominantly graduate courses in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The regular teaching load is four courses per semester with one-course release per semester for coordinating the Master’s program. Oversight of thesis and practicum experiences will also be required. Faculty will participate in departmental and college committees, maintain office hours, and work collaboratively and productively with colleagues.

The successful candidate will assist with the development and oversight of the curriculum based on requirements by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). By extension, this faculty member will lead the Master’s in Applied Psychology program through the process of accreditation. The successful candidate will coordinate the workload for the program and will be responsible for community development activities such as developing and maintaining partnerships. The faculty member will be responsible for recruiting students to the program, reviewing applications, and contributing to admission decisions. Faculty in this role will be the point of contact for advising students regarding course work, field placement, and certification requirements, as well as oversight of thesis and practicum experiences.

The Department of Psychology is a large and vibrant program of undergraduate and graduate students. Position Requirements
  • Must possess a Ph.D
  • Must be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Demonstrated ability to teach required courses
  • Demonstrated ability and/or experience to meet overall and specific position responsibilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and service
Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience
  • Doctoral level BCBA (BCBA-D)
  • Candidates with prior teaching, thesis, and practicum supervision experience
  • Prior experience with certification or accreditation requirements
