Job Description

Summary

The Yang Lab in the Department of Pathology and Immunology is inviting a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and enthusiastic Postdoc to contribute to research related to cancer biology and therapy resistance. The Postdoctoral Associate will carry out in-depth studies to reveal the molecular mechanisms underlying the roles of MAPK4 and other molecules in the regulation of human cancers. Primary activities include carrying out molecular, cellular, and biochemical assays and characterizing transgenic/knockout models and xenograft models.

The position is located in the Yang Lab focusing on human cancer research in the Department of Pathology and Immunology.

Baylor College of Medicine typically follows similar to the NIH stipulated stipend guidelines for Postdoctoral Associates.

Job Duties

  • Works independently and collaboratively to carry out assigned research projects, gain comprehensive knowledge of the related field and literature, properly design experiments.
  • Collect and analyzes experimental data.
  • Reports to the PI weekly.
  • Prepares manuscripts under the guidance of the PI.
  • Shares routine lab duties that includes organizing common lab supplies and reagents and preparing buffers.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree in a relevant biomedical field.
  • Broad knowledge and proficiency in experimental techniques in molecular biology, cell biology, and cancer biology.
