The South Dakota State University (SDState) IT Support Desk is growing, and we need a position to provide service to the Brookings Main Campus primarily. This position is located in Brookings, SD.

Job Responsibilities:
This position will provide technical support for faculty, staff, and students. Service desktop and laptop mac and windows based computers. Provide a wide variety of computer, client, and network support to ensure effective installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
A wide variety of computer software, hardware, telephony and peripherals.
University IT Security standards and incorporate that knowledge in the support process.
Interpersonal and customer service skills to assist and respond to questions from users with a range of technical understanding from very limited to advanced.
In depth hardware and software troubleshooting.
Installing operating systems and software.
Industry standards such as ITIL (information technology infrastructure library), ITSM (information technology service management)

Skill & Ability to:
Diagnose and resolve workstation, laptop and network problems.
Operate a variety of software applications.
Establish effective working relationships.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, staff, faculty and visitors
Work both independently and as part of a team.
Identify areas for professional growth and learn new skills

Required License: Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
