Overview:
Quinnipiac University’s Department of Health and Exercise Science, within the School of Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track or Clinical Track) in the area of human nutrition. The ideal candidate is an educator who will be integral in teaching our nutrition courses and further develop the current programs that emphasize the vital role of food and nutrition in maintaining healthy lifestyles, athletic performance, medical nutrition therapy, and promoting community wellness. The successful applicant will aid our pursuit of organizing a shared learning community and contribute to the education of students in the challenges of understanding nutrition, exercise, health and wellness, population health, health equity, and public health; developing and building a strong culture of health and wellness among faculty, students, and staff; foster a student-centered environment by delivering engaging and innovative coursework; being accessible, approachable, and relatable to students; display passion, energy, and excitement in health and exercise sciences for our students; be an innovative educator who can excel in the traditional classroom and laboratory settings, with occasional hybrid or online modalities at the undergraduate level when needed; be able to participate in interdisciplinary collaboration that engage and educate students who plan to provide direct patient/client care and in public health.

This is an on-ground position. The search committee will start reviewing applications immediately, and the expected start date will be in January 2027.

About the School/Program: The School of Health Sciences is home to approximately 100 full-time faculty and professional staff and enrolls over 2120 students across over 22 graduate and undergraduate academic offerings. The school is organized into 7 departments offering undergraduate majors in biomedical sciences, health sciences, radiologic sciences, medical microbiology & Immunology and diagnostic medical sonography and graduate majors in physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, biomedical sciences, pathologists’ assistant and cardiovascular perfusion. Responsibilities:
Support the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Quinnipiac University and the School of Health Sciences, and the Department of Health and Exercise Science
Teach classes assigned by department chair
Support curriculum development and evaluation
Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to students
Participate in faculty development activities
Participate in professional activities within and beyond School of Health Science to maximize student learning, faculty scholarship, and programmatic effectiveness
Participate in student recruitment and retention activities
Collaborate with faculty colleagues in teaching and research
Support experiential learning and community engagement initiatives
Contribute to curriculum development and innovation
Support the School of Health Science and University’s vision, mission, core values and work to implement our strategic plans
Provide service to the Department, SHS, QU, and the community
Actively participate in the School of Health Science community
In Addition, for Tenure-Track Appointment:

Maintain an active research agenda, external grant applications and outputs with publications in high-quality journals in the discipline.
Education Requirements:
Required:
Clinical Track: Master's degree (M.S. or M.P.H.) in dietetics, clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, or a related field.
Tenure-Track: Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (DCN) or Ph.D. in Nutrition, or a closely related field.
Preferred:
Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (DCN), Ph.D. in Nutrition, post-professional or research doctoral degree in closely related field awarded by an institution accredited by a regional accrediting agency, which recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Tenure-Track: Post-Doctorate experience and track record of external grant applications and/or awards.
