As an Interventional Vascular Technologist, you will provide technical support during diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging and post-processing to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. You will work collaboratively with the care team while maintaining compliance with all applicable state, local, and federal licensing and regulatory requirements.

This role participates in an emergency on-call rotation and follows a 7 On/7 Off schedule, working a total of 72 hours per pay period. The program offers competitive compensation for scheduled hours, along with an additional eight hours of pay in recognition of your extra commitment.

Schedule

  • Full-time position

  • Week 1: Wed- 8p-6:30a, Thurs- 8P-6:30A, Fri- 10P-6:30A, Sat- 7P-7:30A

  • Week 2:Sun 7P-7:30A, Mon- 8P-6:30A and Tues 8P-6:30A

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Utilizes sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and assist with vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures according to established protocols, adapting to high-stress or non-routine situations as needed.

  • Establishes effective working relationships and promotes a collaborative team approach to patient care and process improvement.

  • Prepares, screens, positions, and monitors patients before, during, and after vascular-interventional procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and understanding of the procedure.

  • Educates patients on procedures and equipment and provides support to promote cooperation and a positive care experience.

  • Prepares and administers contrast agents using injectors or manual injection techniques, while demonstrating knowledge of medications, indications, contraindications, interactions, and potential effects.

  • Operates ancillary and procedural equipment, adjusting settings and techniques as needed to optimize diagnostic image quality and therapeutic outcomes.

  • Acquires, processes, archives, transmits, and prints images through PACS; completes after-hours image transmission and required documentation.

  • Maintains accurate procedural and billing documentation, including injection data, fluoroscopy time, procedural information, and RIS entries.

  • Monitors, cleans, and maintains equipment and systems; promptly reports malfunctions to the appropriate support teams and assists with timely resolution.

  • Provides after-hours standby call coverage as assigned.

  • Trains, mentors, supervises, and supports the development of new hires, students, and clinical learners; participates in continuing education, in-service training, and professional development.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing

  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

  • Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography: R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiology: R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT)

  • Prior CT (Computed Tomography) experience

  • Comfortable interpreting cross-sectional anatomy during procedures

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
