AsaClinical Engineer Technician I, you willmaintain, service and repair medical equipment by taking preventative measures,cleaningor adjusting pieces as needed. While you may not interact with patients directly, your efforts will leave a positive,lasting impression– from the moment they enter the facility to the time they return home.
A caregiver in this position worksdays, Monday – Friday from 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with on-call requirements. Start times may vary. Must have the ability to float to other CCF locations in the eastern region.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment.
- Maintain documentation of equipment, inventory,serviceand repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience troubleshooting andmaintainingmedical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field ORAssociate’s Degreein Biomechanical Engineering, ElectricalEngineeringor Information Technology OR equivalent specialized or military training.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET)
- Associate’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical EngineeringTechnology
- IT or networking experience, troubleshooting skills, teamwork, customer service, independence, and a thirst for knowledge
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.
Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.
Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts.
Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
Ability to move up to 50 pounds
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $22.85
Maximum hourly: $34.85
