Essential Job Duties
We are seeking a proactive Technology Support Technician to lead the operational management and user support for our Hospital Information Systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless functionality of the electronic medical record system through real-time troubleshooting, comprehensive system maintenance, and the development of technical knowledge bases. As a key collaborator with faculty, staff, and administrative leadership, you will utilize innovative project management tools to prioritize technical demands and rationalize capacity across the organization. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can accurately manage system configurations, create effective training materials, and identify strategic opportunities for workflow enhancements that drive technological excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring the HIS support queue and providing timely Tier I user support
Troubleshooting non-routine user issues, making recommendations for resolution, or escalating as needed
Managing system access permissions and maintaining comprehensive training materials
Consulting with individual and departmental stakeholders to optimize HIS workflows
Identifying software-driven optimization opportunities or barriers to hospital operations
Maintaining rigorous regulatory and accreditation standards within all software systems
This position is open for current, permanent NC State Employees only.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the field of technology related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing Tier I technical support, including monitoring support queues, troubleshooting user issues, and escalating complex problems as needed.
Demonstrated ability to manage system configurations and user access permissions within a software or information system environment.
Experience developing and maintaining user training materials or knowledge bases to support system adoption and effective use.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with experience maintaining compliance with regulatory or accreditation standards within software systems.
Experience with veterinary medical practice.
