Department InformationThe Georgia Southern-East Georgia Campus in Swainsboro provides more than 1,700 students access to affordable, quality higher education. Within this setting, the full-time mathematics faculty member will teach mathematics classes within the Department of Mathematical Sciences on the Georgia Southern University - East Georgia Campus.
Job Summary
Reporting to the department chair, the Lecturer position requires excellence in teaching core mathematics courses with a classroom instructional load as assigned by the Department Chair and service to the department, college, and university at a level consistent with workload. The position is a non-tenure-track academic year (10 month) appointment. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face-to-face and online formats. Travel between campus locations may be necessary.
Required Qualifications
Earned Master¿s degree in Mathematics or closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate-level mathematics by August 1, 2026.
Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Successful college teaching experience is desirable.
Ability to teach face-to-face and online courses
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
