Job Description

Position Summary
Reporting to NYU’s VP of Information Technology and Global CIO and the Associate Dean of Clinical Administration and Revenue Cycle Management for the College of Dentistry, the CIO leads the Information Systems Unit at the NYU College of Dentistry. The Information Systems Unit is responsible for a range of information technology functions including clinical, administrative, research and academic systems. The CIO directs and implements security and privacy protections in conjunction with NYU Dentistry leadership for all academic and administrative technologies; develops and executes technology strategy in support of the didactic and general academic efforts for full- and part-time faculty, and students at the College. Supervise a staff of administrative, technical and office support staff, and student employees. Serve as member of the University CIO Council and of the Colleges' Emergency Preparedness Task Force; lead the College's IT business continuity and emergency preparedness efforts in conjunction with NYU Dentistry leadership. Lead college-wide technology transformation initiatives and oversee project management and service delivery efforts.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, technology, or related degree.

Required Experience:
10+ years 10+ years progressively responsible managerial and supervisory experience in computing and communications operations management, policy, and procedures development, and strategic planning activities in a large, complex dental or medical institution.

Preferred Experience:
Relevant experience in higher education, medical, dental or other not-for-profit organization.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven ability to lead change in a vibrant medical or dental technology organization; lead groups and build consensus through analytical, problem solving, and decision-making processes; capable of grasping and communicating the 'big picture' while remaining conversant with technical, organizational, and environmental detail; successful track record in building client relationships.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory environment.
