Job Description

This position provides technical and logistical support for a variety of simulation activities involved in the daily operation of simulation. Assists with the acquisition and maintaining necessary supplies, and equipment. The Simulation Technology Specialist oversees the technological aspects of the labs, such as the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of simulation equipment. Serves as the chief liaison between the Simulation and IT departments for maintenance of hardware, software and new product procurement. The individual in this position collaborates with the other members of the LHSON Sim Team to provide high-quality, simulation-based educational activities.

A minimum of a Associates Degree and one year of work-related experience is required. A Bachelors degree is prefeed. This position is located in Dallas, TX. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.


Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

Provides technical and logistical support for simulation. This includes set-up and breakdown of scenario-based and skills-based simulation activities. Operates the high-fidelity mannequins and A/V equipment in the running of simulations.
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sim lab technology: simulators, EHR/web applications, and equipment for LHSON Simulation Labs. Make recommendations for upgrades and/or purchase of new simulation technology.
Collaborate with the Director and other members of the Simulation Team on policy and procedures related to operational/educational/technological aspects of the simulation labs. Support faculty-led research and/or CQI projects at the request of the Director of Simulation.
In collaboration with the Simulation Support Coordinator, the Simulation Technology Specialist will provide some direction to student workers in the fulfillment of their daily responsibilities.
Provide professional development related to select technical aspects of simulation for Simulation Facilitators, Standardized Patients, Faculty, Staff, and/or student workers. Assists with scheduling and/or communication with Standardized Patients, Facilitators, Student Works, etc as needed.
Maintain an awareness and knowledge of industry developments by attending conferences, reading journals and joining related user groups.
Perform other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
