Kitchen & Catering Assistant (Part Time)

Department: Food Services
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Position Overview & Responsibilities
The OMRF Research Cafe offers a convenient and welcoming space for employees and visitors to enjoy meals, snacks, and drinks throughout the workday. We're looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment, brings a friendly and customer-focused attitude, and takes pride in being efficient, reliable, and detail-oriented. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare hot and cold food, quickly and efficiently handling the grill and charbroiled station.
  • Perform detail and general cleaning.
  • Set up and break down events held on-site.
  • Care for and maintain non-food inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Stock supplies, run the cash register, and wash dishes.
  • Assist with menu planning, including daily and weekly specials.
  • Maintain a welcoming and customer service-oriented attitude toward customers.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and kitchen skills.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills.
  • Organized, multitasker, follows directions, shows initiative, and works independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and customers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • A valid OKC Certified Food Service Operator Certificate is a plus
  • 2 years of back-of-house or kitchen

Work Hours
  • Typically, 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9AM - 3PM, with occasional additional hours for events (advance notice provided)

Work Conditions
  • Some lifting (up to 50 lbs.) will be required
