Job Description

Goodwin University is seeking a Director for the Undergraduate Nursing Program. The Program is responsible for overseeing both the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs. This leadership role entails providing strategic direction, developing programs, and ensuring operational oversight to maintain high standards of nursing education that comply with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional objectives. The Program Director is committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, promoting faculty development, and enhancing student success, while also ensuring the growth and sustainability of the programs.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership and Vision: Provide strategic direction for ASN and BSN programs, ensuring alignment with the institution's mission and compliance with accreditation standards.
Curricular Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate curricula to uphold academic rigor while ensuring compliance with accrediting bodies and state regulations.
Faculty Management: Oversee recruitment, professional development, evaluation, and retention of faculty to promote excellence in teaching and scholarship.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance clinical partnerships, securing quality clinical placements for students.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the programs meet the requirements set forth by accrediting and regulatory agencies, including ACEN and CCNE, as well as state nursing boards.
Program Assessment: Lead assessment initiatives, conduct data analysis, and drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance student learning outcomes and overall program effectiveness.
Advisement and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to both faculty and students, creating a nurturing learning environment.
Resource Management: Collaborate with university leadership to develop and manage budgets, resource allocation, and strategic operational planning.
Innovation in Education: Advocate for the integration of innovative teaching strategies and technology within nursing education.

Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing
Unencumbered RN license in the State of Connecticut, or eligibility for licensure.
Minimum of three years of academic leadership experience in a nursing program.
Experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and regulatory compliance.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
Proven ability to foster faculty development and enhance student success.
Experience in budget management and strategic planning is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP, or EdD)
Prior experience as program director or assistant director
Experience with program accreditation processes
Grant writing and management experience
Experience with student retention programs
Experience with interprofessional education
Experience with faculty development
Background in online/hybrid education delivery
