Chief of Hematology Opportunity | Chicago, IL

City of Hope Chicago (Zion) has launched a national search for a Board-Certified Hematologist to join our esteemed Chicago team in Zion, IL. The Chief of Hematology will provide leadership to our department of Hematology in clinical, research, and education areas. The Chief will be a highly regarded physician with a collaborative, team-based leadership style, and the ability to leverage and grow our existing, nationally recognized Hematology program. The Chief must also be operationally savvy, with the business acumen and cultural sensitivity to lead within a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Collaborative Team: Work alongside top-tier physicians and specialists, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to deliver outstanding patient care.
  • This is a clinically focused leadership position and applicants with significant experience in the treatment of Lymphoid malignancies, Leukemias (Chronic and Acute), or Plasma Cell Disorders (Myeloma) are highly desired.
  • The ideal candidate will be a respected Hematologist with a distinguished national reputation. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
  • Our hematology program is fully integrated for all aspects of the research and clinical mission, and leverages City of Hope’s program leadership and long history of preeminence in hematology.
  • The leader must possess a breadth of skills, including deep knowledge of clinical practice, a strong commitment to training and the career development of faculty as well as demonstrated leadership and administrative ability.

Competitive Compensation: Includes a highly competitive salary, signing bonus, relocation assistance and productivity/performance incentives.

  • Base Salary Range: $500K-$600K. This range reflects the base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Salary is negotiable and will be determined based on factors such as experience, training, and hospital/community needs.

Comprehensive Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision Plans, Health Savings/Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability, Long-term Care, Life and AD&D, 401(k) Retirement Plan, PTO Paid Plan, Paid malpractice coverage, Professional expense reimbursement.
