Job Description

Summary

Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center offers a paid summer internship program with learning opportunities within the research labs, administration, and psychosocial services. The program fosters the development of learners who have demonstrated an interest in pediatric hematology/oncology (PHO) or pediatric healthcare.

Job Duties

  • Gathers, compiles and analyses research activity data on a daily basis.
  • Aids in developing research activity reports.
  • Assists with managing researcher profiles on the website.
  • Collaborates closely with Marketing, Public Relations and the Web Team on strategic research communications and related workflows.
  • Attends in-person photo and video shoots that highlight our research programs (e.g., cancer and blood disorder awareness days/months).
  • Compiles and edits raw footage (videos, photos) and text into compelling contents that meet the highest quality standards for posting on the website, and physician-to-physician marketing and social media channels.
  • Works closely with Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology leadership, staff, trainees and faculty on advancing strategic research goals.
  • Attends regularly scheduled meetings including monthly marketing/PR meetings with our Section Chief, and weekly website meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
