City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
**This is a full time, day shift position with start times ranging from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday – Friday. Variable schedule and weekend availability are required once the hospital opens.**
The City of Hope Lobby Ambassador provides a high level of customer service to assist with meet and greet, mobility, wayfinding, directions, and connecting patients and families to City of Hope resources. The Lobby Ambassador is the liaison between valet parking area and the patient registration area and/or hospital destination of the patient. The Lobby Ambassador provides wayfinding and transportation services by greeting patients/families who are arriving on the Duarte Campus. In addition, the Lobby Ambassador may use an electric vehicle or wheelchair to move the patient from a parking lot or valet area to hospital or outpatient destination. The Lobby Ambassador delivers services with a high level of engagement, interpersonal skills, safety acuity, and City of Hope values.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Meet and greet patients and assist with general information and directional assistance.
- Communicate with other staff and drivers frequently.
- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to help others at all times.
- Practice preventative safety procedures.
Your qualifications should include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in a customer service role with at least one year providing face-to-face customer service.
- Strong communication and prioritization skills
- CPR/BLS certification through American Heart Association
- Current CA Driver’s License
