Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director-Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) provide senior-level, strategic oversight, guidance, and direction of the Project Delivery Process for the PDC team of Project Construction Managers and Project Coordinators. Actively participates in the university's campus planning efforts to include the Campus Master Plan and other smaller-scale planning efforts. Develops and implements initiatives to improve processes related to the delivery of a program of renovation and new construction projects assigned to PDC staff. Utilizes performance metrics to report progress status and responds to inquiries. Guides the programming and design process of large & small-capital projects for new university facilities and maintenance, repair & renovation projects for approximately 160 existing university buildings. Serves as designated Construction Project Manager on selected projects as assigned by the Director - PDC or VP-Facilities.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Program Management and Project Delivery - Manages the overall processes related to the successful delivery of a multi-million dollar program of projects including renovation, demolition, and new construction projects assigned to the PDC team. Utilizing metrics, reviews existing processes and procedures related to project delivery from initiation through close-out and identifies areas for improvement. Develops, implements, and measures effectiveness of new processes as well as training of PDC staff and communicating process changes to stakeholders. Participates in review of project designs, budgets, and schedules making recommendations for revisions as needed. Meets with design consulting firms. Contractors, and material vendors as needed to establish relationships and provide guidance regarding future project involvement. Develops facility program requirements and ensures that all processes and procedures are compliant with all building code requirements, applicable laws and guidelines as well as all University System of Georgia (USG) requirements. Fosters collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Project Management - Responsible for managing Design and Construction projects as assigned by the Director - PDC or the VP - Facilities. This includes successfully overseeing the design and construction phases of assigned projects including selection of design consultants, selection and procurement of construction firms, tracking and reporting progress, and collaborating with stakeholders.
Leadership - Serves as the primary backup to the Director-PDC providing leadership and guidance to PDC team members during periods when the Director - PDC is unavailable. Includes oversight of staff, attending meetings, presenting information, responding to stakeholder inquiries in a timely manner, and collaborating with other Facilities units. Assists with assignment of new projects, selection of project design and construction firms and recruitment efforts within PDC and other areas of Facilities. Directs efforts to collaborate and engage with the University System of Georgia (USG) Real Estate and Facilities department as related to development of project scopes, budgets and approval processes. This includes creation of Project Concept Proposals and budget development and tracking.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Science from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecure, Construction Management/Building Science, Business Administration and minimum of ten (10) years management experience leading planning/design/construction departments in a multi-building campus environment. Knowledge of compliance requirements as they relate to an academic campus setting.

Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management/Building Science preferred. PE or Architecture Licenses preferred not required. Demonstrated successful experience managing many multi-million-dollar capital projects including complex budget preparation Direct knowledge of compliance reequipments as they relate to an academic campus setting.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: 16
Salary Minimum: $95,200.00/Annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
