Job Description
Job Summary:The Department of Medicine is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to design, develop, and deliver analytics solutions to administration, faculty and staff within the Department of Medicine, leveraging a variety of analytic methods, tools, visualizations, and modeling techniques. This includes consultation and the development of trusted advisor relationships with leadership to assess analytics needs and facilitation of solution development by managing multiple concurrent efforts, including projects of significant complexity and risk. The candidate will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating analytic activities across the entire enterprise.
The selected candidate will work within the Clinical Business Intelligence and Data Analytics team to design, develop, test, and maintain performance-optimized Business Intelligence (BI) solutions based on underlying data warehouse structures and the optimal match of user requirements and available data presentation methods and tools. The BI Developer will develop and maintain solution documentation. The BI Developer will coach lower-level BI Developers and perform mid- to high-level complexity assignments that require a deep understanding of underlying data structures and associated tools. Through a matrix arrangement with the UW Health Enterprise Analytics (EA) department, the BI Developer will have access to clinical, financial, and operational data in order to provide the department with dashboards, quality assurance and clinical operations reporting.

Education:
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred focus in Healthcare, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Data Science or related field.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Demonstrated success creating analytic solutions such as reports, dashboards, and business plans.
- Demonstrated success identifying needs and requirements of clients seeking analytic solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize end user needs to create solutions.
- Demonstrated success using quantitative and qualitative methods to identify opportunity.
- Demonstrated success applying relational thinking in writing and validating queries against multiple data sources.
- Demonstrates professional maturity surrounding data access, data security, data sensitivity and data confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage knowledge and skill with a variety of query tools (e.g. SQL, R, Python), analytic techniques, tools and platforms, to analyze large quantities of data, from multiple sources, to design, create, and maintain, dashboards, business plans, forecasts, projections and presentations, models, algorithms, and statistical and financial analyses.
Preferred:
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant data analysis or analytics experience in healthcare (provider or payor).
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience using Epic Chronicles, Epic Registries, Epic Clarity and/or Epic Caboodle Data Warehouse.
- Prior experience serving in a consulting role, working with end users to develop data solutions.
