We have an exciting opportunity to join our Orange County Marketing & Communications Department as a Director of Events. Under the supervision of the leader, the Director of Events helps deliver a comprehensive and cohesive events management program to support City of Hope Orange County’s strategic priorities. The Director of Events will be responsible for creating a guest experience where City of Hope is seen as a world-class leader in transforming the future of cancer care. The Director will have responsibility for all internal and external events, working closely with Orange County executive and leadership teams, external vendors and stakeholders to execute cost-effective, engaging, high-impact events.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Help define standard practices and protocols used within the Event Services function.
  • Be the frontline events lead with the office of the President, the Office of Philanthropy and Marketing and Communications.
  • Be responsible for creating a guest experience where City of Hope is seen as a world-class leader in transforming the future of cancer care.
  • Will maintain and execute all internal and external events in support of the OC strategic priorities.
  • Will design events on the City of Hope Orange County campus and surrounding area.
  • Will have event oversight to include working closely with City of Hope Orange County executive and leadership teams, external vendors, and stakeholders in all execution of cost-effective, engaging, high-level, high impact events.
  • Will consult with key stakeholders to design and deliver high quality programs/events that ensure the effective use of resources (human and financial) and a successful guest experience.
  • Will aid in the development of event communication materials. Work with creative director or external vendors in the development of event collateral materials.

Your qualifications should include:

Bachelor’s Degree; 3 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education.

  • 7+ years related experience;
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity
  • Event planning disciplines including media, vendor relations, production and management of VIPs.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $70.62 - $117.94 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
