College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
Job Summary
This position will collaborate with the Emergency Medicine Residency Coordinator, Fellowship Coordinator and Clerkship Coordinator to assist in the day-to-day operations of all academic programs.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Rotations:
Coordinate Residency, Fellowship, and Clerkship rotation requests. Request, gather, and submit documentation for rotations. Coordinate student shift schedules with the departmental scheduler and manage student change requests. Act as a liaison for the academic programs various sites to process credentialing for the VA, University Hospital, Aiken Regional and Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
Recruitment:
Work in concert with Residency, Fellowship, and Clerkship coordinators with organizing all recruitment activities. (Preparing applicant packets, posting interview schedule, photos of candidates, breakfast, lunches, dinners, etc.)
Evaluations:
Utilize One45 to send Residency, Fellowship, and Clerkship shift evaluations. Under the direction of the Clerkship Coordinator, obtain grade reports via D2L.
Events:
Work in concert with the Residency, Fellowship, and Clerkship Coordinators for all academic events, to include student orientation/in-processing, residency graduation, picnics, etc. (Invitations, dinner, set-up/take down, photo, etc.)
CME:
At the direction of the Residency Coordinator, complete all Continuing Medical Education (CME) paperwork for academic programs. Act as the liaison with the CME office on behalf of the department. Prepare and maintain all CME documentation.
Academic Calendar:
Maintain and oversee the academic calendar, to include data input, room scheduling and faculty attendance of grand rounds and fellowship conferences.
Exams:
Organize and prepare materials necessary for all academic exams. Work in concert with the Residency and Clerkship Coordinators to administer exams as needed.
Observership Application Process:
Complete all paperwork associated with Observership application process. Request, gather, and submit applications to the appropriate contacts. Provide follow-up and communication with all observers throughout the process.
Other:
Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible office support experience.
OR
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field may be substituted for experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an academic medical center with recent work experience in a clinical educational program.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality; Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases; Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills; Ability to create and plan; Interpret and apply MCG/AU/AUMC policies and procedures; Provide leadership and direction while coordinating; Exercise independent judgment and discretions; Foster a collaborative work environment

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
