The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow under the direction of Dr. Ling Li.

Our dynamic department stands at the forefront of cutting-edge medical research. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will actively contribute to groundbreaking projects, employing high-throughput CRISPR genetic screening to unveil novel targets and utilizing single-cell technology for in-depth genome analysis in hematological malignancies. You will also engage in diverse activities, from scrutinizing leukemia evolution to pioneering novel immunotherapies. As a successful candidate you will:

  • Manage laboratory inventory by procuring necessary reagents and supplies.
  • Develop proficiency in essential mouse handling techniques including transplantation, extraction of bone marrow cells, and antibody staining.
  • Isolate Peripheral Blood/Bone Marrow Mononuclear Cells (PBMC) from Human Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) samples or normal healthy donors.
  • Perform flow cytometry for verification of human specimens.

Your qualifications should include:

  • PhD or M.D. with a strong background and profound hands-on experience in the field of either molecular biology, immunology, cancer biology, or genetics.
  • Experience in sequencing or protein structural data analysis is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in working with animal models of human cancers.
  • Literature knowledge of one of the three research areas mentioned above.
  • Evidence of scientific rigor and excellence as documented by at least first-author peer-reviewed publications.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Pay Rate: $34.00 - $37.55 / hour
