College/Department Information
The Graduate School (TGS) aims to provide a rich intellectual, academic and research environment for educating students to become leaders in the discovery, dissemination, and application of knowledge. To help facilitate this, our graduate faculty members are selected based on experience in research, scholarship, and education. They are drawn from the faculties of Augusta University's College of Allied Health Sciences, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Hull College of Business, Dental College of Georgia, College of Education, College of Science and Mathematics, College of Nursing, School of Computer & Cyber Sciences and the Medical College of Georgia. Class sizes are small, and the faculty excels in cultivating and modeling supportive, collegial and professional relationships with students. With outstanding programs in Allied Health, Biological and Computational Mathematics, Biomedical Sciences, Bimolecular Science, Biostatistics, Business, Computer and Cyber Science, Education, Intelligence and Security Studies, Medical Illustration, Nursing, and Public Administration- earning a graduate degree from Augusta University is time well spent!
Job Summary
The Director of Graduate Student Engagement and Success will help identify barriers and gaps in graduate student support services at Augusta University, work collaboratively across colleges to understand the unique needs of distinct populations of graduate and professional students, and work as a liaison to student life and support units to create a strong platform on which to develop graduate student support options to rival any other university in the nation.
To become a destination for graduate education, we need to serve as leaders in graduate student support and not rely on a system designed to address a different group of students. Many of our peer and aspirational institutions have multiple staff dedicated to student success and engagement in their graduate schools, and all at director levels or above. The inclusion of a TGS Team member focused on graduate student engagement and support is critical to our ability to meet national trends and for all us to successfully recruit the best and brightest graduate students, securing AU as a destination for graduate education.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT PROGRAMS: Create, implement, and oversee programs that promote graduate student engagement and success- professional development workshops, seminars, and social events.
COLLABORATE WITH FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES: Work closely with faculty and staff to ensure that graduate students are receiving the support they need. Collaborate with the AVP of Student Success, Career Services, Center for Writing Excellence, SCAPS, and other current student support service offices on campus to identify and expand offerings specifically targeted to graduate and professional students at AU.

ASSESS PROGRAM EFFECTIVENESS: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of student engagement and success programs and existing student support services for graduate and professional students. This could involve collecting and analyzing data, soliciting student feedback, and making necessary adjustments to improve program outcomes.
PARTNERSHIP & PROMOTE AWARENESS: Partner with the Office of Access, Success, and Belonging and the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement to support underrepresented and international students, promote awareness, and ensure that all students feel welcome and supported.
STAY CURRENT WITH BEST PRACTICES: Keep up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in student engagement and success. Attend professional development workshops, reading scholarly articles, and networking with colleagues at other institutions.
ADVOCATE FOR STUDENTS: Create a centralized resource for the graduate and professional student community. Serve as an advocate for graduate students within the university community. Represent student interests in administrative meetings, address student concerns, and work to improve university policies and practices that affect graduate students.
MANAGE BUDGETS: Oversee the budget for student engagement and success initiatives. This could involve allocating funds, tracking expenditures, and ensuring that programs are cost-effective.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university combined with three years of relevant experience
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university combined with five years of relevant experience.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of the normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B13
Salary: $68,500 - $80,000
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
