Registered Nurse III Float – Outpatient Oncology Infusion Clinic – Per Diem

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Oncology Nurse in our outpatient infusion clinic in Newport Beach to work per diem. The nurse plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to our patients in the outpatient chemotherapy infusion clinic. Your primary responsibility is to deliver comprehensive nursing care to the patients while assisting them through their treatment journey offering emotional support and education. The nurses at City of Hope play a vital role in improving the quality of life for cancer patients by providing expert care, support, and education throughout their cancer journey. This is a float position with the expectations to work in other clinical network locations as needed. The locations include Irvine, and two locations in Long Beach.

  • Eligible for Sign-On Bonus: $2,000.00
  • Monday through Friday – 4/10 hours shifts.
  • Schedule between 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. or 8:00 am to 6:30p.m.
  • No Weekends or Holidays

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assessing patients’ health status
  • Developing and implementing care plans
  • Administering chemotherapy and other medications, monitoring patents’ vital signs and symptoms
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families and coordinating care and follow-up appointments. Help with managing side effects and complications from their cancer treatment. Involved in quality improvement initiatives, and patient education programs specific to cancer care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet the patient care needs.
  • Evaluates and adjust the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed, the nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe and timely care

Your qualifications should include:

  • Associate degree in nursing.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current California Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association.
  • *If RN is working within Medical Oncology, an ONS certification is required

Preferred qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in a physician’s office or hospital.
  • One year oncology and chemo administration
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.

Pay Rate: $72.57 / hour
