The Cancer Center of the Beckman Research Institute is looking for a Program Manager who will report to the Plan to Enhance Diversity (PED) Leader and will support them in proactively cultivating an equitable, inclusive, and safe environment that embraces and champions diversity and nurtures the development of the next generation of cancer center leaders.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Perform and coordinate all tasks and activities related to the PED component for the CCSG competing applications non-competing continuations, including but not limited to document preparation, data queries and production of reports, writing and editing of grant sections, and communication and coordination with a large group of individuals including senior leadership, marketing, information technology, and finance.
  • Manage activities, including proposal submissions and progress reports. In addition, the position must ensure accurate information for preparing and processing all proposals to external agencies and providing information/counsel to faculty on contract and grant proposal diversity processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership from COH's multiple catchment-area responsive training grants to help facilitate COHCCC PED-goal advancing leadership, training, and educational activities.
  • Assist with developing the budget for the PED for submission with the competing and non-competing renewals
  • Assist PED leader in maintaining & keeping scheduled appointments, meetings, etc.

· Bachelor’s degree in Data Analysis, Biomedical & Population Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Masters degree preferred

· 3+ years of experience within business management in an academic or research environment, including experience in budget management or an equivalent combinations of education and experience.

· 2 years of experience focused on DE&I or Training in Programs related to those who self-identify as members of Underrepresented racial or ethnic groups, those with physical or neurological differences, those who come from disadvantaged is preferred.

· Other preferred experience incudes:

o Principles and best practices of PED programs in the scientific workplace

o Cultural competence, sensitivity, inclusiveness, diversity, and equity issues, and equity impacts

o Principles and practices of effective career development and training programs

o Standard office practices and procedures, including automated word/data processing systems

o Principles and practices of public administration, management analysis, organization, supervision, and communication

o Collaborative problem-solving.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $39.25 - $60.84 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
