Description:Saint Mary's College of California (Saint Mary's) invites applications for one tenure track position in Accounting, at the Assistant Professor rank, starting Fall 2025. Our primary teaching and research needs are in all areas of Financial Accounting (Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced) and Auditing, but candidates from all areas of accounting are encouraged to apply. The School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) is AACSB accredited and has highly respected undergraduate (BS, BA) and graduate (MSA) programs and research-active faculty.
The faculty member will teach accounting courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Teaching assignments for Accounting faculty at Saint Mary's typically include face-to-face courses at its Moraga main campus and hybrid (i.e. combination of face-to-face meetings and Zoom meetings) graduate courses.
The faculty member is responsible for meeting scholarly academic (SA) qualifications per AACSB guidelines upon hire and consistently maintaining SA status. This means, approximately and at a minimum, having two peer-reviewed publications and an additional scholarly item (such as a presentation or another publication) in any five-year rolling window. Applicants are automatically SA for five years after earning a PhD.
All faculty also contribute to Saint Mary's mission in alignment with Transformation 2028 strategic priorities and as it relates to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice, and interdisciplinary programming. Teaching is the primary focus of the College, and all faculty serve the College and community in many ways, including academic advising, student and community outreach, participation in departmental and College-wide committees, and the development and assessment of the College's Core Curriculum. Faculty are also encouraged to teach the College's Core Curriculum, January Term, and Collegiate Seminar programs.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is reflected in the Faculty Salary Scale, available here. In addition to base pay, salary supplementals are offered for these disciplines as determined by current Faculty Salary policies in consultation with the Dean and Provost. The salary range for this position is $139,858 to $162,935.
Qualifications:
Mininum Qualifications
Education: Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field at time of appointment
Experience: Evidence of teaching effectiveness and a strong research record or potential.
Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA is desirable
