Job Description
The Teachers College has a full-time contract faculty position available 2024-25. The faculty member assigned to this position will assist in teaching and related programming activities in American Sign Language (ASL), aid in collecting data for departmental reports, providing program input and development, and support our ASL lab.
The Teachers College welcomes applications for an Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of American Sign Language.
Job Function:
The Teachers College has a full-time contract faculty position available 2024-25. The faculty member assigned to this position will assist in teaching and related programming activities in American Sign Language (ASL), aid in collecting data for departmental reports, providing program input and development, and support our ASL lab.
Minimum Experience:
A. Earned MA or MS degree from an accredited institution by date of appointment.
B. Native or near-native fluency in ASL

Preferred Experience:
A. Earned MA or MS degree from an accredited institution in American Sign Language Studies, Deaf/Deaf Culture Studies, ASL Linguistics, Special Education with training in ASL, or related field
B. Earned doctoral degree in American Sign Language Studies, Deaf/Deaf Culture Studies, ASL Linguistics, or related field.
C. ASLPI 4+ or better.
D. One year experience teaching ASL in the K-12, community, college/university setting
E. Familiarity with Signing Naturally curriculum
F. Have a strong involvement in the Deaf community.
