We have an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist position that will support physicians, schedule all patient appointments (hospital and office follow-ups), collect co-payments and process all payments in Passport. Check incoming and outgoing mail, check and clear incoming faxes, verify insurance eligibility as needed. Complete all physician orders, schedule all test and diagnostic studies ordered. Obtain authorizations as needed and link authorizations to visits, tests or procedures. Verify any changes to patient demographics, update insurances at each visit.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Answer calls, take messages, and provide information.
  • Greet and direct visitors; maintain a welcoming reception area.
  • Send/receive packages and manage deliveries.
  • Support departments with clerical tasks.
  • Register patients in EMR (Epic preferred) and verify demographics.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and co-payments; submit IPA authorizations.
  • Schedule multi-specialty appointments and coordinate physician orders.
  • Assist with telehealth and patient portal registration.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Strong customer service skills; at least 1 year in a medical office preferred.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems, managed care insurance, and IPA submissions.
  • Independent, organized, and detail-oriented.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year customer service experience(medical office setting preferred)
  • Medical terminology knowledge

Additional Information:

  • Full-time, day shift
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Fluent in Armenian preferred

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $20.81 - $24.97 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
