Reporting to the Senior Officer role, (the Chief of Staff (COS) will have broad involvement in advancing the work of the Senior Officer, supporting executive leadership of the vertical and enterprise-wide functions reporting into the role, and advancing highly visible system initiatives in support of the mission and strategic plan of City of Hope. This role requires very strong executive-level presentation preparation and writing skills. In this role, the COS is expected to partner strongly with other senior executives cross functionally or key stakeholders externally. This position will strive to co-create, develop and accelerate the adoption of new solutions that support key strategic initiatives.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Serve as a strategic senior advisor to the senior officer, providing perspectives, options, and ideas which advance the goals of the system. Support the senior officer in framing and helping to mitigate strategic challenges and change management.
- Organizes and leads strategic projects, with a focus on defining business requirements, developing an appropriate business plan, identifying project risks and appropriate mitigations, defining costs/budgets and return on investment analysis, identifying and escalating issues, developing detailed project/action plans, and for defining content to be disseminated across the COH enterprise.
- Partner with the senior officer to lead, mature and implement internal projects and consulting engagements.
- Conducting research on key market trends, and collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, synthesizing analyses, and identifying key findings May work with Sr. Officer to prepare for internal/external meetings and Board of Directors and Board Committee meetings (if applicable,) as needed. Ensure senior officer preparedness for these forums.
- Keep track of key projects and issues of high priority to the senior officer and ensure follow through by the responsible senior executives.
- Serve as a delegate/representative of the senior officer from time to time at leadership forums and meetings.
- Supporting and leading executive-level coordination of key Vertical and system initiatives, processes, and programs that deliver system-wide collaboration and outcomes.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree; 3 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education.
- 10 years’ experience with C-suite level executives, hospital operations, strategy, project management, or related experience.
- 7 years of experience leading senior level teams, developing/implementing team management methodologies, and standardized approaches to execute and carry out organization initiatives.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $88.56 - $147.90 / hour
