Summary

The Department of Pathology at Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a qualified individual for a faculty position in the Division of Community Pathology at Texas Children's Hospital North Austin. Texas Children's Hospital is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a healthier future for children and women throughout our global community by leading in patient care, education, and research. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the delivery of comprehensive pathology services as Texas Children's Hospital expands world class care to families in Austin and Central Texas with a 360,000-square foot freestanding hospital for children and women, opening in February 2024.

Job Duties

This pathologist will participate in professional services comprising anatomic and general clinical pathology, including rotational on-call coverage as a faculty member in the Division of Community Pathology. This individual will report directly to the Division Chief of Community Pathology. Pathologists serving at Texas Children's Hospital have full time faculty appointments in the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine. Based on academic interests and demonstrated scholarship, tenure track or non-tenure track faculty appointments will be considered.

Minimum Qualifications

Interested individuals must possess an M.D., D.O. or equivalent, with board certification/eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP). Subspecialty certification is highly desirable, to include Pediatric/Perinatal Pathology, Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, and/or Hematopathology. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
