Job Summary
The Academic Success Coordinator will plan, develop, and manage the implementation and monitoring of student academic support related to a college or school at Augusta University and a designated population, such as transfers or athletes. The position reports to the Assistant Director of the Academic Success Center (ASC), a unit designed to support students seeking to improve their academic outcomes.
As student advocates who support the academic journey from beginning to end, coordinators meet one-on-one with students in an assigned college for academic success planning and lead seminars and workshops to provide coaching in life skills/academic success strategies. Coordinators are assigned to a college and partner with faculty and staff to develop student-centered academic programming to promote student retention and persistence.
The ASC Coordinator must have strong analytic skills and be comfortable using data to inform decisions. This includes strong data analysis skills to assess the effectiveness of programming, track student outcomes, monitor student progression, and develop reports on student outcomes. Familiarity with Excel is key and experience with student information systems such as EAB Navigate is preferred. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential in this arena.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
ENGAGE WITH STUDENTS TO SUPPORT THEIR ACADEMIC SUCCESS: Develop and maintain academic support programming for a college. Implement effective processes for peer educators including recruitment, screening, orientations, pedagogical training programs, and professional development. Collaborate with unit staff to develop a comprehensive tutoring schedule each semester. Develop online resources as needed.
MANAGE THE ACADEMIC SUCCESS PROGRAMMING IN DESIGNATED AREAS: Develop and maintain academic support programming for a college. Implement effective processes for peer educators including recruitment, screening, orientations, pedagogical training programs, and professional development. Collaborate with unit staff to develop a comprehensive tutoring schedule each semester. Develop online resources as needed. Teach Academic Success Instruction and Innovations (ASII) 1101 ' Learning for Success'.
ENGAGE IN DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS: Document meetings and updates on student progress in the electronic records system. Generating timely reports to ensure up-to-date information is shared with institutional partners. Maintain data related to student enrollment, attendance, retention, and tracking of benchmarks for program assessment and development.
SUPPORT THE GOALS OF THE ASC THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSITY: Collaborate and communicate with faculty to ensure tutoring supports academic course content, arrange class-based workshops, and provide course learning assistants. Provide feedback and follow-up with faculty on student progress. In conjunction with the ASC leadership. serve as liaison and collaborate with appropriate University programs, services, and organizations to develop programming to promote students' academic success.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and 2 (two) years of experience working with various student populations. MSc, MEd, MAT, and equivalents accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with BANNER and student tracking software preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/ databases.

Demonstrated experience with teaching, pedagogy, and pedagogical strategies.
Demonstrated ability in working as part of a team, establishing rapport, and collaborating with a variety of organization stakeholders.
Knowledge of program development, data gathering, assessment and evaluation skills.
Demonstrated experience working with students for academic success.
SKILLS

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday-Friday (work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B8
Salary: $45,400/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
