College/Department Information
The Immunology Center of Georgia (IMMCG) represents a new initiative by the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University to leverage the ability of the immune system to combat disease. The IMMCG will accomplish this by assembling teams of biomedical researchers with strong records of scientific innovation and technological development. The IMMCG will be co-directed by world-class immunologists Drs. Catherine `Lynn' Hedrick and Klaus Ley, both of whom have made major discoveries linking immune cells to specific mechanisms of disease. The goal of the IMMCG is to produce novel and effective treatments for conditions that heavily impact the communities of Georgia and the United States. The new center is aggressively recruiting faculty and staff to lead projects focused on cardiovascular disease, obesity and metabolic disorders, autoimmune and infectious disease, neurodegenerative disease and cancer.
Job Summary
This position will assist with administrative and technical work in support of subject study projects and research initiatives. Lead in planning, implementation, data collection, data entry and careful, exact documentation within the contract/grant and institutional guidelines. Be responsible for day-to-day oversight of the project including staff assignments, scheduling of all research related activities, Institutional Review Board regulatory filed and required sponsor progress reports.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Maintain Schedule: Maintain project timeline with precision by working with other team members; Weekly follow-up with research sites and site navigators; Assist group leaders with sessions; Offer study participation and coordinate enrolling research participants.
Project Planning: Attend staff trainings and research meetings. Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles.
IRB: Prepare, submit and maintain all IRB regulatory files per institutional guidelines; Obtain informed consent; Data collection, entry and quality control; Maintain study subject files.
Other: Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
OR
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Project management experience in an academic or hospital/clinical setting. Institutional knowledge or experience in higher education with the variety of types of projects that serve the educational, research, and service missions. Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). Experience with Waterfall project management methodology. Experience in using Microsoft Project or another scheduling software.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Pay Band: B12
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
