The successful candidate:

The Lead Security Office is responsible for helping the Security Manager in overseeing all departmental functions ensuring that all people and property of the hospital are safe and secure. Works with the Security Manager to manage a group of security guards who ensure the protection of an organization’s facilities. Helps develop and enforces security procedures and regulations. Acts as a liaison between the Security Manager and Security on security measures, procedures, and needs. Does assigned daily task as given by the Security Manager

Providing leadership and ensure guards complete work tasks including:

  • Checking doors in the facility to ensure they are secure and securing properly and completing established check points locations.

  • Makes sure that all hallways and stairwells are free of obstructions.

  • Responds to calls for assistance from subordinates and others, and cooperates with police, fire and civil defense authorities at all times.

  • Report irregularities to authorities internally and externally as required.

  • Help in the planning of all drills needed as required by Joint Commission and state and local authorities.

  • Attend some off-site meetings with local. State and federal authorities if the Security Manager can’t attend.

  • Ensure hospital facility and parking lot is patrolled to maintain high level of security and safety for stakeholders and visitors. Enforce no smoking policy.

  • Maintain schedule so all shifts are covered. Be available to assist the Security Manager with covering a shift if one needs to be covered.

  • Completing daily reporting of the designated KPI goals. Keep all logs updated as shown. Cover the department when Security Manager is on vacation or ill.

  • Ensure the escort of patients, family members or employees to vehicle upon request.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Extensive background in law enforcement, security or similar occupation required

  • Training in management and budgeting

  • 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $19.51 - $30.15 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
