Job Description

Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist in wet chemistry lab experiments related to protein expression and purification. For desk work, the technician will be responsible for outlining and labeling organelles within digital images of cells. The technician will need to follow established protocols and take detailed notes of their daily activities.

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Selects, evaluates, and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Outlines and labelsorganelles within digital images of cells.
  • Follows established protocols and take detailed notes of their daily activities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with protein purification and digital cell segmentation labeling is desired.
