The successful candidate:

External Affairs and Communications, Program Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans that effectively convey City of Hope’s brand, values and messaging to external and internal audiences. The program manager effectively represents and promotes City of Hope Phoenix as well the outpatient care centers, while building mutually beneficial relationships with external entities and internal teams.

The role focuses on external communications via stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, media and public relations, crisis management, community relations and outreach, reputation management, social media implementation, research and analysis, and event and philanthropic communications.

This role serves as the lead and point person for the development and dissemination of internal communications to these audiences. The role is responsible for enabling City of Hope’s annual Internal Communications strategy intended to inform, engage and inspire team members and culture. This will include leadership of strategic planning and content as well as channel development for City of Hope Phoenix and the outpatient care clinics. The role will be responsible for partnering with the system internal communication team. As well as the responsibility of building and maintaining strong relationships with leaders and content owners in these locations to determine and impact communications strategy.
The program manager will play a crucial role in managing and promoting the brand’s presence on various social media platforms. This role includes a mix of creative, analytical, and strategic skills to engage target social audiences.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education: B.A. in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, English, Journalism or related field.
Minimum Experience: Five years of experience in external communications.
Proven track record developing and executing creative communications strategies for external audiences including media relations.
Preferred Experience: Direct to consumer media and communications efforts.
Previous experience in social media management or digital marketing.

Sound judgment and decision-making
Diplomacy (ability to effectively cultivate and maintain relationships)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $37.81 - $62.28 / hour
