Physician | Medical/Hematologist Oncologist | Newport Beach, CA

The Department of Medical Oncology and Therapeutics Research at City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking applications for a full-time faculty (95% clinical effort allocation) with experience in diagnosing and treating both cancer and blood disorders who also has special interest in GU & GI malignancies. This position will cover one clinic location and join our established practice in the coastal city of Newport Beach in Southern California.

Designed with the patient in mind, City of Hope Newport Beach houses a state-of-the-art infusion center with serene ocean views and comfortable treatment bays, a patient resource center, light and bright exam rooms equipped with large-screen monitors, and two procedure rooms for multiple minor surgical procedures and biopsies.Our multidisciplinary team of physicians (medical oncologists, hematologists, surgeons, among others), APPs, supportive medicine, social services, researchers and other health professionals work with patients to develop a personalized treatment plan using chemotherapy drugs as well as other treatment options. While some patients will be referred to City of Hope’s flagship campus in Duarte or to City of Hope’s new Lennar Foundation Cancer Center in Irvine, many can be treated at our Newport Beach location where patients have access to the leading therapies that are now available for a variety of solid tumors, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and hormonal, biologic, and targeted therapies.

PAY & BENEFITS

Base Salary Range: $400-525k (base pay commensurate with qualified academic rank)

o The salary range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Academic record consistent with appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor level at City of Hope National Medical Center

· The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active California medical license

· ABIM certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine, Medical
