Job Description

Supported by a significant investment from the state, the Gallogly College of Engineering is rapidly growing with a strategic focus on increasing the number of engineering graduates. Our plan for student body growth is built around new programs to recruit and retain students in our College. A cornerstone piece of that plan is the Engineering Pathways Program. Engineering Pathways faculty are charged with educating and supporting our student body in ways that recognize and encourage new ways of thinking, understanding, and experiencing engineering.

We seek 2 additional teaching-focused faculty members who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students. Successful candidates will have demonstrated commitment to collaborative and innovative excellence in instruction, an ethos of care and support of students from all backgrounds, and effective mentorship and guidance of students. Candidates with an interest in educational research are welcome and will have opportunities for research collaboration with current and new faculty. We are seeking candidates with experience or expertise in first-year engineering education.

The Gallogly College of Engineering seeks candidates who contribute to fostering a collaborative and welcoming environment in all aspects of faculty responsibility, including within the classroom, the academic community, and within their professional commitments. With more than 4000 total students, our undergraduate student body is outstanding with more than 200 National Merit Scholars and more than 400 Honors students currently enrolled.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned PhD in engineering, computer science, or related degree by the date the position starts.
  • Experience with engineering student education through undergraduate teaching and undergraduate student mentoring.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative instruction and ethos of care for students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or expertise in first-year engineering education for a general engineering student body
