Summary
An Assistant Professor/Instructor position (non-tenure track) is available in the Reimer lab in the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. The applicant will form part of a team of investigators in the Reimer Lab who are examining brain states and multimodal integration across corticothalamic circuits. The goal of this research is to develop a new pipeline that will yield a multimodal view of the function, structure, and genetic composition of huge numbers of neurons in the same animal, making it possible to identify different classes of neurons with important roles in behavior and cognition that may be disrupted in psychiatric disease states.
- Plans, directs and conducts research experiments including complex cranial window surgeries, viral vector injections, multi-photon imaging.
- Data analysis including retinal topic mapping, correlation analysis.
- Basic data analysis required to perform experiments including: retinotopic mapping, dotmapping, correlation analysis, and quality control and running preprocessing pipelines for scans and recordings.
- Mouse colony maintenance includes breeding schemes, coordinating animal transfers and care for lab members.
- Work closely with other lab members as necessary to achieve project goals.
- Document all procedures and experiments to maintain good research practices and compliance with BCM and other authorities.
