Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as research coordinator for multiple health services research/communication grants. Many of the projects are related to HIV prevention and care and/or health disparities. The role is to coordinate and carry-out the day-to-day activities of the project. The ideal candidate will have some prior knowledge of health services research and/or public health (e.g. qualitative, survey methods, public health messaging, etc.) and is a highly motivated individual who can work independently as well as a team.

The work hours will be between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Job Duties

  • Organize project team meetings (e.g., schedules meeting, sends calendar invites, reserves room, makes sure computer set-up works, etc.)
  • Maintain research protocols (e.g. submits renewals, amendments)
  • Assist with compliance-related tasks (e.g., maintain records and regulatory forms, perform internal audits of regulatory documents)
  • Advertise, screen and recruit research participants; explain process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research
  • Collect patient information; process documents and enter information into a computerized database or participant report form
  • Schedule research participants and/or community members for interviews, surveys and other activities specific for the research protocol
  • Conduct interviews, administer surveys online or in the field (e.g. clinics, neighborhoods, communities, public spaces, college campuses, etc.)
  • May conduct review literature and/or social media (e.g. health promotion ads, videos) and assist in manuscript and grant preparation (e.g., prepare tables, format references)
  • Orders supplies and equipment
  • Performs other job duties as assigned, including managing and organizing finances and research data

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in an academic setting
  • Experience working with underserved, vulnerable populations
  • Interest in health disparities research
  • Experience required: One year of relevant experience (beyond Graduate Research Assistant)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to work independently and proactively
  • Must be able to work successfully as a member of an interdisciplinary team thatincludes staff, faculty, health care professionals, and national-level leaders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in written and spoken English
