The successful candidate:

The position performs all technical duties of a pharmacy technician in addition to providing direct supervision and coordination of all technicians and duties by actively participating in departmental operations within the scope of policies and procedures. This position works under the direct legal supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacist manager. The position requires the ability to make critical decisions, facilitate stakeholder conflict resolution, work independently with minimal supervision, and solve problems. Three distinct areas of core responsibilities are defined:

Administrative Automation, packaging, and sterile compounding Purchasing and inventory management

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Coordinate technician schedules and duties
  • Responsible for maintaining SOPs for technicians
  • Responsible for maintaining USP compliance (documentation and competency)
  • Responsible for technician competencies sign offs
  • Assist with inventory, billing, auditing, and unit inspections as needed
  • Be able to backfill at any location and remote support as needed
  • Assist with Kronos and payroll functions as needed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience

Education: High school diploma

Licensure: Arizona State Pharmacy Technician

Certification: National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)

Special Skills

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Spreadsheets/Word-processing)
  • Mathematically able to calculate dosages
  • Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and other pharmacy related technology including automated systems.
  • Clear understanding of technician-related pharmacy law.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong background in the admixing of sterile oncology preparations

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $21.59 - $35.56 / hour
