There are many federal requirements that all research institutions must meet in order to conduct human subject research. Job Summary
To assist with the completion of the OnCore coverage analysis to include developing and negotiating industry sponsored clinical trial budgets and review/update industry sponsored budget amendments for the Clinical Trials Office. In addition, this position will also assist with completing budgets for grant applications and subawards.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Coverage Analysis and OnCore Financials
Perform comprehensive and independent analysis of clinical trial protocols and other study documents, including the research study budget, contract, informed consent, pharmacy and lab manuals, and other supporting documentation.

Perform detailed coverage analysis of research procedures in alignment with CMS rules and develop audit-ready study billing grids.
Assist investigators in determining study status under Medicare coverage rules and in identifying services as non-covered research-only, routine care, investigational items and services along with their associated costs.
Understand and exercise independent judgment and discretion in the analysis, interpretation and application of the
Medicare National Coverage Decisions (NCD) and Noridian local coverage decisions (LCD) for routine costs in clinical trials, and all relevant UW Medicine clinical research budgeting and billing policies and procedures.
Assist in the development of standardized procedures and tools for coverage analysis.
Assist with the financial build in Oncore by validating clinical trial financials and enter budgets into various systems to optimize performance and productivity.
Industry Sponsored Clinical Trial Budgets, Amendments, Grant
Provide excellent customer service and accurate guidance to clinical research study teams regarding clinical research budgeting and billing policies and procedures. Keep study teams apprised of study status.
Analyze industry sponsor budget proposals against the clinical trial protocol and various sponsor manuals to develop and negotiate comprehensive study budgets and payment terms.
Perform analysis during the review stage of budget development to drive the proper costing and effort structure.
Review and update industry sponsored clinical trial budget amendments.
As directed, assist with completing budgets for grant applications and subawards.
Ensure electronic and paper study files are created, updated, stored, and maintained according to established office practices, customer service standards, and AU record retention policies, from initial contact to study closeout and beyond.
Assist in the development of standardized procedures and tools for clinical research budgeting.
Training
Provide training and education to CTO colleagues, investigators, research staff and practice site staff on research budgeting and billing policies, procedures, and tools.
Participate in internal and interdepartmental project teams as assigned.
Other
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university and two years of clinical administrative, business, financial or related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Pay Band: B8
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
