NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

As the Mission Services, Associate Lab Director (ALD) at Sandia National Laboratories, your leadership will play a critical role in driving our mission of “Exceptional Service in The National Interest”. You will provide executive leadership, oversight, and management direction for the Mission Services functions. The Mission Services functions includes: Supply Chain Management, Project Management Center of Excellence, Finance & Accounting, and Integrated Business Management.

You will lead a team of 1,000 dedicated professionals overseeing the organization's financial strategy, operations & integration, purchasing & logistics, project management, and compliance in support of SNL Missions along with managing a budget of $135M. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring our continued success and growth while keeping the Laboratory Director and leadership informed.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive financial and purchasing strategies of approximately $5 billion annually which would include budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.

Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 1,000 professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, connection, and excellence.

Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives and achieve organizational goals as well as the ability to set aggressive goals to increase organizational value to the NNSA through performance initiatives including cost savings.

Operational Efficiency: Optimize and streamline processes and systems to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years of directly related professional experience with 10 years being management experience.
  • Knowledge of NNSA/DOE and government rules and regulations (DEAR/FAR Clauses).
  • Demonstrated success in managing an organization through transformational change.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Advanced degree in finance or business administration
  • Experience supporting the DOE/NNSA Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Evaluation (PPBE) process, with a proven track record in finance, procurement, material management, and project management within a DOE/NNSA/OGA environment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable directives, codes, standards, and requirements for assigned functions.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset; capable of leading, managing multiple deliverables, and presenting ideas creatively for complex system integration.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong customer relations, anticipate and adapt to change, and interact tactfully with corporate executives and senior-level customers.
  • Financially savvy and politically astute leader with strong prioritization, delegation, and investment guidance skills, supported by keen analytic, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expert in business strategy, capable of making or recommending large-scale business decisions and solving complex problems with strategic insight.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
