College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
Job Summary
Manage various operational, financial, research and personnel functions for the Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to review, preparation and submission of required financial reports, budgets/documentation, comprehension and analysis of financial statements, resolving budget errors, overseeing department recruitment, and managing department support staff.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
FINANCIAL: Responsible for the preparation of financial reports regarding departmental operations, assisting with the preparation of annual department budgets, monitoring and maintaining department accounts, addressing/resolving BCE from payroll, p-card, requisitions, etc., setting up non-sponsored accounts in PeopleSoft, including revenue and foundation accounts. Prepare quarterly analysis of available discretionary funding.
OPERATIONS: Submit and maintain needed approvals for extra duty compensation, calculate, track, verify and enter monthly extra duty pay requests. Responsible for verification and submission related to PAR, check requests, service agreements, cost transfers, budget transfers. Route all agreements and contracts through Meditract. Monitor for approval and necessary updates. Enter all distribution changes, track faculty effort distribution.
ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT: Process all HR documentation for the departments on both the university and health system platforms. Complete PCFs, CHJFs, SBARs, enter postings in OneUSG and Peoplesoft, distribute resumes and complete necessary onboarding paperwork. Act as the department liaison for all IPSO related matters. Manage all office associates, office specialists, and clinical receptionists in the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery. Interview and hire for these positions, complete annual evaluations and action plans, if needed.
RESEARCH: Provide research of account balances to PIs, approve all eSproute routings, assist with applications and regular reporting updates as needed. Monitor and complete necessary financial maintenance processes. Monitor departmental start-up accounts, arrange all necessary laboratory space requests, work requests, etc
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related job duties/tasks as assigned. Perform urgent functions as needed, additional duties and roles as assigned, assist with urgent reporting issues as requested.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or related discipline and three years administrative management experience.

Pay Band: B13
Salary Minimum: $68,500
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
