Job Description
Review of applications will begin 10/1/2024 and continue until filled.The TCU Department of Psychology is hiring a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor beginning August 2025. This position is part of a larger departmental “health-related” faculty hiring initiative. We seek candidates with expertise in Behavioral Neuroscience, Learning, or Computational Neuroscience with health-related, translational research. Primary consideration will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. and at least one year of post-doctoral training by August 2025. Applicants should have a strong promise of external funding (Assistant) or have a funded research program (Associate) to be considered for the position. The successful candidate will be expected to (1) teach relevant undergraduate and graduate coursework in their area of expertise; (2) maintain an active, externally funded research program involving undergraduate and PhD students (3) establish fruitful collaborations with relevant faculty members in the department, and/or with the many other research Universities in the metroplex area, and (4) serve on the graduate committees for students in other departmental neuroscience labs and provide service to the college and university.

B. RESEARCH
The successful candidate will be expected to develop an active research program that results in publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific meetings. The successful candidate must be able to develop undergraduate and graduate research opportunities in their lab. Receiving extramural funding of research projects is expected for tenure. A competitive start-up package will be offered to allow the successful applicant to engage in productive research.
C. TEACHING
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the neurosciences within their area of expertise. The successful candidate’s teaching schedule is subject to change based on departmental needs.
