A Tenured-track Assistant Professor opportunity is immediately available in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology within the Arthur Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute (AR-DMRI). AR-DMRI is a component of the Beckman Research Institute (BRI) at City of Hope. Our research depth in diabetes and cancer makes this institution unique, providing opportunities for scientific and clinical distinction and collaboration across disciplines, for example crosstalk between endocrinology, diabetes, cancer metabolism, and biology of the pancreatic islet, muscle, liver, and adipose tissue. The Department of Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, directed by Adolfo Garcia-Ocaña, PhD who joined City of Hope in March 2023 is being expanded with a strong focus on diabetes and translation.

As a successful candidate, you will:

· Have an interest in broadly understanding diabetes pathogenesis and with the idea of translating promising insights into biomarkers, treatments and potential cures for type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree (PhD and/or MD) and possess a record of scholarly accomplishments (high-impact publications, extramural funding, national recognition) commensurate to the Assistant Professor rank.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an open, collaborative mindset.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $67.98 - $79.83 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
