Job Description

Summary

A Research Technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Irina Larina in the Department of Integrative Physiology at the Baylor College of Medicine. The laboratory investigates reproductive physiology and early embryonic development through innovative live imaging and genetic approaches in mice.

Job Duties

  • Performs mouse colony management.
  • Conducts genotyping.
  • Performs histological analysis.
  • Works on basic molecular biology.
  • Conducts mouse surgical procedures.
  • Analyses data.
  • Keeps record.
  • Orders, and conducts other general lab duties as assigned.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in science or equivalent.
  • Experience in the laboratory, exceptional work ethics, great attention to details, and enthusiasm to learn new methods.
  • Computational and imaging skills are a plus.
