We are seeking a Phlebotomist LTA I (Per Diem) to join our team within our clinical laboratory in Orange County/Irvine at Lennar Foundation Cancer Center! In this role, you will draw blood from COH patients and donors using appropriate procedures, guidelines and standards as well as processes specimens for in-house / send-out laboratory testing. Working under the direction of Phlebotomy Supervisor, you will provide high-level support and assistance with a variety of tasks within the laboratory, including but not limited: new staff mentoring, specimen / workflow problem issue resolution, special request draws, supply ordering and procedure development. Tentative Schedule, as needed (subject to change) (not guaranteed):

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays: 07:00am -1:00pm
  • Coverage for vacation, sick calls, etc, as needed

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Draw blood in accordance with physician order using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Greet patients, process the laboratory orders, and direct patients to their next station.
  • Collect and deliver specimens for analysis, using appropriate or specified equipment for collecting and handling specimens.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or equivalent (Approved GED)
  • 0 to 1 year Patient facing healthcare or laboratory experience
  • California Phlebotomy Technician license required
  • CPR (through the American Heart Association)
  • EPIC Beaker experience, preferred
  • Hourly Per Diem Rate: $30.424653 / hr

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $23.18 - $34.77 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
