College/Department Information

The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, we provide dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. Join other dental providers to improve the oral health of Georgia and beyond. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. As a patient, you have the option to receive treatment in one of our three different practice models consisting of student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia.

Job Summary

The DCG Education Development Coordinator performs advanced business/system analysis work and supports faculty instructional development by providing training for and consultation with faculty members as they craft innovative instructional delivery programs for the Dental College of Georgia. Work involves overseeing the gathering, determination, development, and documentation of user requirements; development of interactive training in a variety of formats, with special attention to online education and incorporation of educational technology; the review, assessment, and development of business processes; the validation of user acceptance testing; post-implementation support of systems/processes; and research and special project support provided to users. Oversight of multimedia functions to include web resources, digital signage and training LMS (learning management system).

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

MANAGEMENT OF THE DENTAL COLLEGE OF GEORGIA's EHR FORMS AND PROCESSES: Assesses and reviews user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems. Gathers requirements for templates, reports, and documents from providers and management. Performs enhancements, updates, and upgrades to EHR templates based on requirements from provider staff. Performs quality assurance to ensure accuracy and integrity of reports, templates, triggers, and stored procedures. Performs support to staff including complex analysis and troubleshooting in support of various EHR systems and technical processes. Coordinates functional testing of upgrades for EHR systems. Regularly supports compliance and accreditation efforts as assigned, but not limited to CODA (Commission on Dental Accreditation) and AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care). Develops and maintains clinical and academic reports. Develops a super-user level understanding of the EHR applications for support and training purposes.

WEB TECHNICAL EDITOR FOR THE DENTAL COLLEGE OF GEORGIA: Interfaces with the DCG Communications Coordinator and departmental liaisons to develop and publish web content. Collaborates with Web Communications to ensure standardization of published web content. Maintains internet and intranet sites and ensures accuracy of information. Oversees instructional and technical support to DCG departments in regards to web content editing.

DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA TECHNICAL EDITOR FOR DCG: Digital multimedia technical editor for Dental College of Georgia. Interfaces with the DCG Communications Coordinator and departmental liaisons to develop and publish digital signage. Oversees the editing and reviewing of multimedia files.

OVERSIGHT OF THE DCG EHR TRAINING PROGRAM: Oversight of The Dental College of Georgia's EHR training program for faculty, residents, staff, and students. Oversees creation and management of an on-going technical training program designed to meet organizational objectives and specifically the objectives of the EHR (axium and MiPACS) systems. Develops course content and materials for, but not limited to, EHR basic computer skills and electronic healthcare record applications, including documentation of operational agreements on how the system will be used (i.e. standardized system usage). Provides instruction via classroom, on the job, conferences, and web-based applications. Conducts training to instruct management and supervisory personnel (train the trainer). Establishes and maintains effective communications with other dental educational institutions in regards to training curriculum and clinical processes/procedures.

OVERSIGHT OF CLINICAL, ADMINISTRATIVE, AND COMPLIANCY INSTRUCTIONAL PROCESSES DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING: Manage the activities of the training development and training support to ensure cohesive adherence to clinical processes and guidelines associated with clinical curriculum. Collaborate faculty and staff to validate training materials and scenarios, to include regulatory issues. Determine professional development needs of faculty and staff and implement training solutions; Ensure timely participation in any required training. Collaborate with leadership on daily operations, changes in training requirements, and training support. Advise leadership on matters within scope of duties and provide information to make informed decisions. Engage in efforts to research various technologies and analytics, develop course material to meet DCG standards, and deliver instruction through the development of interactive training with special attention to online education and incorporation of educational technology.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years experience in business administration, computer science, management information systems or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree. Higher education training experience. Dental experience. Experience with EHR systems and Crystal Reports. Experience with web design.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of instructional concepts as it relates to adult learning.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Knowledge, skill, and experience working with development environment.
Knowledge of clinic data presentation, reporting, and spreadsheets.
Knowledge of OU Campus and HTML.
Proficiency in databases (tables, queries, forms, and reports) and reporting tools (Crystal, Tableau, etc.)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Solutions especially Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Bridge.
Proficiency in SnagIt and Camtasia.
Ability to manage multiple projects and consultants/contractors.
Ability to convey information to a wide variety of audiences (management, directors, end-users).
Must speak, read, and write English language proficiency.
Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.

SKILLS
Works with individuals or groups undergoing stress; effective oral and written communication skills, proficient in English; color decimation, sense of hearing, sight and touch, manual dexterity, memory for detail. Ability to concentrate and multitask. Ability to perform numeric computations; adaptability and emotional stability.

ABILITIES
Interacts with faculty, residents, students, and staff on a frequent and ongoing basis. Active participant in academic courses and training sessions. Coordinates and interacts with various institutional departments. Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Works closely with Quality Improvement personnel, financial Business Analysts, and Marketing.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B12

Salary: Minimum $62,300/annual

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
