Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

At Pfizer (NYSE: PFE), we apply science and global resources to bring therapies to people that extend and significantly improve their lives. Every day, Pfizer colleagues work to advance wellness, prevention, treatments and cures that challenge the most feared diseases of our time. Consistent with our responsibility as one of the world's premier innovative biopharmaceutical companies, Pfizer collaborates with health care providers, governments and local communities to support and expand access to reliable, affordable health care around the world. For more than 175 years, Pfizer employees have worked to make a difference for all who rely on them.

As part of our commitment to tackling COVID-19, Pfizer has developed both preventative and therapeutic measures to tackle this virus.  Our therapeutic offering, PAXLOVIDTM is a novel protease inhibitor that, since it’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) in December of 2021, has helped treat over 15M patients at high-risk for progression to severe COVID-19, which can lead to hospitalization and/or death. With the FDA approved May 2023 transition from EUA to NDA (New Drug) in the U.S., there is significant opportunity to bolster the leadership position of PAXLOVID in the marketplace.  And with new clinical and (RWE) real world evidence data, label indications, and administration routes anticipated throughout 2024, there is even greater opportunity to help more patients get the care that they need.

The Director, Consumer Marketing, US PAXLOVID, will report directly to the Sr. Director, Consumer Team Lead, U.S. Antiviral and will be responsible for leading and executing the unbranded consumer marketing strategy for PAXLOVID in the US. This person will work with the Consumer Team Lead, Creative Agencies, Analytics, Media partners and the Pfizer Chief Marketing Office (CMO) to challenge established thinking to solve brand issues in innovative ways; creating impactful, innovative programs that effectively educate consumers about the risks of COVID-19 and motivate patients to seek care once they test positive or have symptoms of COVID.  This person will also work with the broader PAXLOVID team to lead operating plan.
