Health Information Representative

The successful candidate:

Contributes to the daily operations of Health Information Management to assure accessibility, accountability, and accuracy with responsibilities including Release of Information, Scanning/Outside Imaging, and Analysis of the medical record. Requires 2-3 years of professional experience with medical records and familiarity in working with diverse facets of Health Information Management. Familiar with federal and state laws and regulations concerning medical records, including HIPAA and TJC standards. Ability to work effectively with other departments, physicians, and all ancillary staff. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills to maintain the integrity of our medical record.

Job Qualifications:

Education: Associate degree in Health Information Management with successful completion of the Accreditation Exam preferred

Active membership in AHIMA or equivalent with experience in Health Information Management preferred

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a medical record department with familiarity in working with diverse facets of medical record activities.

Familiar with federal and state laws and regulations concerning medical records, including HIPAA and TJC standards. Ability to work effectively with other departments, physicians and all ancillary staff.

Ability to identify various medical record document types and analyze medical reports for accuracy, completeness, legibility, timeliness, authentication, date, time restrictions and conte

Ability to utilize computer systems— MS Office with emphasis on Excel, OnBase, Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) or similar EMR

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.00 - $24.15 / hour
