Health Information Management Supervisor

The successful candidate:

City of Hope is in search of an outstanding Health Information Management (HIM) professional (RHIT/RHIA or eligible), to assist in managing the daily operations of Health Information Management. The role includes direct supervision of enterprise medical record scanning and external imaging areas. The position will also act as an internal consultant for City of Hope Atlanta hospital on HIM matters, encompassing documentation completion and the enforcement of HIM policies and procedures.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelors or Associate of Science (AS) or Applied Science (AAS) degree in Healthcare/Healthcare Information Management; bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum Experience Required

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in healthcare or related field strongly desirable

  • Strong demonstration of skill and abilities to perform in Health Information Management foundational areas of Release of Information, Analysis, and Document Imaging; Radiology experience including PACs; HIPAA; Maintain confidentiality.

  • Familiarity with all areas of Health Information Management foundational areas of Release of Information, Analysis, and Document Imaging; Radiology experience including PACs; HIPAA, and other ancillary services... (ie. The Joint Commission and Centers for Medcare and Medicaid Services).

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and working with ancillary areas.

  • Familiar with software's such as Microsoft office Suite, Excel, EPIC, Onbase

Required Training, Licensure & Certifications

  • Must have obtained certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or eligible to become certified.

  • Required Courses/Training: Intermediate to Advanced Skills in Health Information Management, HIPAA, Regulatory requirements for medical records

  • Must have had training and course related experience pertaining to Health Information Management (HIM), HIPAA; Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other Microsoft applications

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $24.09 - $39.71 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
